CIVIC PROJECTS
Verizon Wireless Amphitheater; Alpharetta, Georgia:
AEC was the site designer and engineer for this 45 acre state-of-the-art amphitheater and cultural art center. The project included a 12,000 seat performance venue, common areas for food service, a large covered stage area, six acres of lawn and over 1500 parking spaces. Sustainable elements were incorporated such as large grass paving areas for event parking.
Folk Pottery Museum of Northeast Georgia, Sautee Nacoochee, Georgia:
Located in a historic structure connected to the Sautee Nacoochee Center, the museum houses a world class collection of southern folk pottery. AEC provided civil engineering for the extensively renovated and expanded facility. The project won an American Institute of Architects (AIA) Honor Award in 2008 and a 2009 South Atlantic Region (SAR) AIA Honor Award.
